I am a mom of four, an attorney, and a 10 year school volunteer who has served not only my children's schools, but every school in Alameda.  I have in-deptch experience with the critical issues currently facing our school district and will work to find creative, out of the box, solutions.

  • I am a parent.  With four children attending AUSD schools (Woodstock Child Development Center, Head Start, Earhart, Otis, Lincoln Middle, Alameda High and ACLC), and my youngest (twins) starting Alameda High School this year.
  •  I am an attorney (business litigator).  My legal skills enable me to ask key questions, research viable solutions and negotiate agreeable outcomes that best serve our students, schools and community.
  • I am an educator.  As a substitute teacher, at all levels, I have taught in almost all AUSD schools; including long-term assignments teaching elementary school, English Language Learners, and Special Needs students.
  •  I am a committed volunteer.  For 10 years I have served throughout AUSD, including schools not attended by my children.
  •  I am a leader.  As President of Alameda PTA Council, 2006-2008, I oversaw all PTAs in AUSD 2006-08.
  •  I am a successful fundraiser.  Spearheaded the Alameda PTA Council Save Our Music effort.  Brought new monies to AUSD from the State of CA. Through my efforts, as PTA Council President, every AUSD school obtained CA State Garden Grants.
  • I am an activist.  Through my leadership as PTA Council President, I organized unprecedented lobbying efforts for educational funding (three trips to Sacramento, city-wide letter writing campaign and community rallies).
  • I am a collaborator.  I have forged strong relationships with parents, teachers, staff, and administrators throughout AUSD, and with local public legislators, and business and community members.
  • I am a devoted children’s advocate.  I believe that every child has a right to a quality education.
  • I am results driven and a hands-on leader.
